One of the happiest moments that any of us are going to experience in life is when we have a child. It’s a moment to celebrate because we can look back on the past at the way things were and look forward to the future and the long-term project we have in front of us.
When most new parents have a baby, one of the first things they do is to look at the features. They want to know if they have all of their fingers and toes but if you happen to be Rachel, a new mother in Tennessee, you may be looking at more.
Rachel welcomed her son, Cash Jamaal Buckman on February 17. Perhaps what got more people’s attention than anything else is the fact that the baby had dark skin.
This wouldn’t be very much of a surprise but both she and her fiancé, Paul Buckman, are white. They are two white people that appear to have a baby with black skin.
After posting this online, many people began to question whether Cash really belonged to Paul. They were questioning whether he was the biological father, and she said that he was.
She went on to say that she had African-American DNA and he could skip a generation and cause a child to be born with darker skin. They also said that Cash may have jaundice, and asked the commenters to be kind.
Despite the fact that they asked for kindness, people were still joking. It hit social media and went viral almost instantly, with many people commenting about how they felt sorry for him and that he had been duped.
At this point, the truth is unknown and perhaps is not anybody’s business. If they did want their moment in the sun, however, they got all of the Internet fame they needed.
