Amidst all the turmoil and concerns surrounding the British Royal Family, Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to mend fences with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Daily Mirror reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are open to ending the ongoing feud that has strained the once strong bond between the brothers.
Relations between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family have been strained since the couple’s decision to leave the Royal Family and move to the USA. The situation has been further exacerbated by their public revelations about their experiences in the UK. The explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry’s memoir have caused significant damage to the Royal Family’s reputation.
However, according to royal author and expert Tom Quinn, William and Kate are determined to put an end to the feud. They reached out to Harry and Meghan, urging them to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK for a visit. Unfortunately, Meghan flatly refused the suggestion.
The last time Archie and Lilibet visited the UK was for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. The children have spent limited time with their UK family members since moving to the USA. Although the Sussexes had plans to travel to the UK as a family in September 2022, the trip was canceled due to safety concerns after security was denied by RAVEC (the Royal and VIP Executive Committee).
Harry briefly visited the UK earlier this year following King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, but there was no reunion with his brother William. Reports suggest that William has no intentions of meeting with Harry during the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in May either. With both Charles and Kate Middleton battling cancer, the “Harry problem” is not currently a priority for William.
Despite the challenges, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s efforts to extend an olive branch to Harry and Meghan show their commitment to healing their fractured relationship.
