Marine Guard Does Something Sneaky To Little Boy

Have you ever noticed that certain things just tend to touch our hearts? For many, this involves any time a young child is in the picture or if a man in uniform is involved.

Perhaps that is why the clip we are sharing with you today is so popular. It is from a classic television commercial that was so popular, it went viral online.

The clip was first released in 1997. A little boy is walking up to a Marine guard and he asks him if he is Santa Claus.

If you know anything about Marines who are guarding a building, they are very focused on the task at hand. In some cases, the Marine is not even supposed to move but they will stand guard, watching for any danger that may happen.

Since the guard ignores what the little boy is saying, never even looking down at him, the child is looking up. Perhaps the boy is wondering why he doesn’t answer, but he takes things to the next step anyway.

The boy pulls out his Christmas list and hopes that the guard will read it and bring him the gifts he asked for. Even though the guard is still not looking down, he gently reaches out his left hand and the boy places the list in it.

The program that is being advertised in this video is the Marine Corps’s Reserves Toys for Tots program. It was started in 1947 and collects new, unwrapped toys near the end of the year to distribute to needy children at Christmas.

You can watch it for yourself in the following video but be warned, you should have your tissues ready:
