Denzel Washington is somebody who has entertained us for many years. We have watched him in multiple movies and he never fails to deliver some of the best lines out there.

As it turns out, Denzel is not only somebody who is known for his acting, but he is also known as a family man as well. The 67-year-old actor has enjoyed four decades of marital bliss with his wife, Pauletta, and we appreciate all he has gone through.

When you think about Hollywood romances and marriages, you don’t typically expect them to last more than a few years, and most. Denzel Washington, however, has managed to keep his marriage together for almost 40 years, which is an amazing number.

They got started on their love story in 1977. They were both selected for roles in the same film, and Denzel was a confident individual, although he was fresh out of college. He managed to make the lead role.

The funny thing is, they didn’t really hit it off at first. In fact, they were playing in the same film but they never talked to each other. It wasn’t until six months later that they had the opportunity to get together.

They went to a party separately and it was there that they met up with each other. Suddenly, they realized that they had a lot in common and Pauletta loved his interest in her viewpoint. He thought she was very attractive.

That was the day that the 40-year marriage got its start, although it would be a while before they fell in love. They met again in the theater, but this time they had gone to see the play in Manhattan apart from each other. They ended up sitting next to each other.

That is when they realized that they had been so close to each other and had a lot in common. It was more than a coincidence, and she felt that it was destiny that they would be together.

She held a cast party hosted by her friends and they grew in their relationship at that point. Denzel confessed to her that he didn’t have enough money to pay for a cab, and she settled the fare.

It wasn’t long before they were in the middle of the romance and tied the knot years later in her hometown in South Carolina. After many years together, they revealed that it took a number of attempts to walk down the aisle.

She joked that it took three attempts before she finally said yes but she never shared the reason why she said no. They were eventually married in 1983.

Denzel and Pauletta have four children together, all of whom make their family beautiful. It’s nice to see the love that they have for each other and we wish them many more years of happiness together.
