Movie Icon From The ’70s, Faye Dunaway, Is Now 83

There are many actresses that were well known but they seem to fade into the background over time. One of those actresses is Faye Dunaway, a woman who had a very good career and is still around to this day.

Faye Dunaway was born in Florida and is known for some of the iconic roles she played over the years. This includes her part as the mother in Mommy Dearest, in which she cries out ‘No more wire hangers!’ Other roles include Bonnie and Clyde.

One of the interesting things about her part in the movies is how she was able to channel the energy of the person she was playing. For example, in the movie, Mommy Dearest, she had to channel Joan Crawford and she stunned the crew with her iconic performance.

Despite the fact that Joan Crawford had passed away four years previously, she almost seemed to bring her back to life. She got into the role so much that she even said that she wanted to climb inside of Joan Crawford’s skin.

In the end, she was typecast by that role. In speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she said: “I think it turned my career in a direction where people would irretrievably have the wrong impression of me–and that’s an awful hard thing to beat. I should have known better, but sometimes you’re vulnerable and you don’t realize what you’re getting into.”

Over the years she worked with some of the top men in Hollywood, including Robert Redford, Kirk Douglas, and Paul Newman. Despite working closely with them, she always ensured that their relationships would remain platonic.

She said: “There were certain attractions to a couple of people – not too many, but maybe Jack (Nicholson) and Warren (Beatty). Warren at the time was in full bachelorhood, but Steve (McQueen) was happily devoted to somebody and I wouldn’t mess around with something like that even if it were offered, but it wasn’t.”

There were some times when she broke the rule, including with Marcello Mastroianni. They had a whirlwind romance for three years but she eventually broke it off when he wouldn’t leave his wife.

She said: “I was deeply in love with him. He was a man like no one I’d ever met before, and he made me feel deeply protected.”

She has had her ups and downs in romance over the years, and has also gained a reputation for being self-serving. In the end, however, she continues to be interested in finding happiness, including looking for romance if it comes her way.
